The Adult Basic Education II (ABE II) program of instruction addresses the educational needs of adults seeking to improve their reading, writing, speaking, problem solving, and computation skills. The ABE II program provides educational opportunities that will enable adults to function more effectively in society, on the job, or in the family setting.
Students who place in the ABE II program based on their initial placement scores, are provided the academic instruction and recourses necessary to assist with transition into the advanced level classes and ultimately earn a high school credential.
The classes are managed enrollment with an attendance policy. There is no cost for registration. Materials are provided by the College and Career Readiness program and are prepared to meet the needs and interests of adults with a special emphasis on employability and transitioning to curriculum programs.
Classes are offered on both the Tarboro and Rocky Mount campuses.
Off campus classes are located at various sites throughout the Edgecombe County area. Primary off-site locations include:
- Rocky Mount Opportunities Industrialization Center, 402 E. Virginia St., Rocky Mount, NC 27801
- Tri-County Industries
