ECC Board of Trustees Announces Reappointments

Ricky Thompson was also reappointed to the board and was sworn in at a previous time.

Three members of the Edgecombe Community College Board of Trustees have been reappointed to serve four-year terms.

Rocky Mount resident Josie Brown Davis was reappointed to the board by Governor Roy Cooper. Davis is a retired educator who spent 38 years as a teacher and administrator in Nash-Rocky Mount Schools and Edgecombe County Public Schools.

A member of the board’s Personnel Committee and board liaison to the ECC Foundation Board of Directors, Davis was first appointed to the board in 2018.

The Edgecombe County Board of Education reappointed Ricky Thompson of Tarboro to the board. Thompson is a financial advisor with Edward Jones.

He chairs the board’s Personnel Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee. Thompson has served as an ECC trustee since 2018.

Gloria Wiggins-Hicks, a trustee since 1997, was reappointed to the board by the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners. She serves on the board’s Building and Grounds Committee.

A Rocky Mount resident, Wiggins-Hicks is a retired community relations manager of Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant.

The ECC Board of Trustees has 12 members, each serving a four-year term. The Office of the Governor, the Edgecombe County Board of Education, and the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners each appoint four members.
