ECC Foundation Golf Tournament Supports Scholarships

The Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s 36th Annual Golf Tournament raised more than $26,000 for student scholarships at Edgecombe Community College.

The tournament was held September 27 at Maccripine Country Club in Macclesfield. Thirty-two teams competed in the tournament, which is the largest fundraiser held by the ECC Foundation.

“It was picture-perfect weather, the players enjoyed a great day of golf, and the volunteers were tremendous,” says Lynwood Roberson, executive director of the ECC Foundation. “The golfers have a great time, and our students are the beneficiaries. It’s a win-win event for everyone.

Edmondson Insurance Agency was second in the first flight, played by Curtis Edmondson, Johnny Edmondson, Lee Edmondson, and Charlie Harrell.

Webb’s Lawn Service placed second in the second flight, played by team members Cole Jeffreys, Tommy Tolson, Kathy Webb, and Timmy Webb.

Edgecombe Community College placed first in the third flight, with team members Al Carrol, Sylvia Cobb, Dr. Bruce Panneton, and Michael Starling.

ECU Health came in second in the third flight, with team members Jim Bullins, Paul Lanfranchi, Earl Marshall, and Scott Norville.

Hitachi Astemo was the corporate sponsor of the golf tournament.
