Edgecombe Performance Series Begins September 30

Somewhere Between kicks off the Edgecombe Performance Series on Saturday, September 30. The group will perform at 7 p.m. in Keihin Auditorium on the Tarboro campus.

The Edgecombe Performance Series begins in two weeks and offers plenty of upcoming opportunities for entertainment.

Sponsored by Edgecombe Community College, the 2023-2024 series includes 11 events for the 17th season of bringing world class entertainment to the area.

Unless otherwise noted, performances are presented in Keihin Auditorium on the Tarboro campus, located at 2009 West Wilson Street.

Performances are:

  • Somewhere Between | September 30
    Somewhere Between features Tracy Farmer, W.C. Allen, Dennis Winstead, Brad Batchelor, and Scott Hartness performing “cover grass.” Adult $20, student $15.
  • Salute to Duke | October 13
    The internationally acclaimed duo of Peter Bloom, flute, and John Funkhouser, piano, celebrates the great Duke Ellington. Adult $35, student $25.
  • New York Theatre Ballet | November 2
    New York Theatre Ballet performs signature works by master choreographers. Adult $25, student $15.
  • Gaylon Pope & SweetWater | November 18
    Gaylon Pope & SweetWater offers a sweet taste of country, gospel, good-time oldies, and comedy. Adult $15, student $10.
  • A Christmas Carol | December 1-3, December 8-10
    Performed by the Tar River Players in McIntyre Auditorium. General admission tickets can be used for any show. Adult $15, student $10.
  • North Carolina Symphony | December 21
    North Carolina Symphony Holiday Pops is a holiday season tradition in Edgecombe County. Adult $25, student $15.
  • Curtis Joyner and Resurrection | February 3
    Curtis Joyner and Resurrection shares the powerful influence of gospel music on the evolution of African American culture and music in America. Adult $15, student $10.
  • “Elvis Is In The Building” featuring Doug Church | March 9
    Doug Church is an international, multi-award-winning Elvis tribute artist who has awed audiences for years. Adult $35, student $25.
  • “Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley | May 3-5, May 11-12
    Performed by the Tar River Players in McIntyre Auditorium. General admission tickets can be used for any show. Adult $15, student $10.
  • Tarboro Choral Society & Orchestra | May 19
    Featuring Dr. Nettie Jean Williams, conductor. Admission is free.
  • Wind in the Willows | July 12-14, July 19-21
    Performed by the Tar River Players in McIntyre Auditorium. General admission tickets can be used for any show. Adult $15, student $10.

Edgecombe Performance Series season tickets are on sale and cost $100 for adults, $75 for ECC employees, and $40 for students.
