SBC Director Receives Awards

Laura Brown Evans, director of the Small Business Center at Edgecombe Community College, has received two professional credentialing awards from the state’s Small Business Center network.

Laura Brown Evans, director of the Small Business Center at Edgecombe Community College, recently received Level 1 and Level 2 credentialing awards at the North Carolina Community College System Small Business Center Network Professional Development Conference.

Credentialing awards were presented to NC Small Business Center directors who have achieved the required training milestones of the credentialing program.

The Small Business Center at ECC is part of a 58-center network in North Carolina, and the centers are located at community colleges. Nearly all of the services provided are free. The primary objective of the centers is to help individuals start and continually operate a business.

“We congratulate Ms. Evans on her efforts to develop and strengthen her skills in order to best serve her Small Business Center clients,” says ECC President Dr. Greg McLeod.
