Eight new members were recently inducted into Edgecombe Community College’s Alpha Omega Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society for students attending two-year schools.

The Spring Induction ceremony was held April 9 on the Rocky Mount campus. The guest speaker was ECC President, Dr. Greg McLeod.

The Spring 2025 Phi Theta Kappa inductees are:

  • Eugenia Bernard
  • Janet Earp
  • Rosa Montejo Gonzalez
  • Makense Lake
  • Kia Williams
  • Cameron Wiggins
  • Rubi Sanchez Amaya
  • Mikella Pittman

Students must complete 12 credit hours in an associate degree program and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Students must then maintain at least a 3.25 GPA to remain in the organization. Jordan Carter and Karin Ruffin, math instructors at ECC, are co-advisors for the honor society.
