Business Owner and ECC Grad to Keynote Scholarship Ceremony
The Edgecombe Community College Foundation will award scholarships to more than 80 students on Thursday, Dec. 12. Astemo Presents the ECC Foundation’s Scholarship Recognition Ceremony, will not only honor the students who have recently been awarded scholarships, but also the donors who have graciously given to their education.
During this year’s scholarship ceremony, Nina White, owner of M&D Accounting Firm in Rocky Mount, will serve as the keynote speaker. White earned her associate’s degree in criminal justice from ECC. She has also earned degrees in accounting, business administration, criminology, psychology and medical billing. Despite undergoing chemotherapy during her studies, White maintained an impressive GPA and was actively involved in leadership while attending ECC.
The Southern Nash Senior High School graduate will share her inspiring story with the scholarship recipients, as well as the importance of embracing challenges, pursing passions and harnessing talent.
The invitation only event will also include a raffle for prizes for the awardees and much more.
A special thanks to all of the donors and to those who have decided to become a table sponsor. The companies who have donated at a corporate level include Astemo, Bojangles/Tands, Inc., Everette’s ProWash LLC, and Word Tabernacle Church.
