ECC Practical Nursing Ranks Fourth in NC

Edgecombe Community College’s Practical Nursing program is ranked #4 in the state by a national nursing advocacy organization.

The top seven schools on the PracticalNursing.org list received a 100 percent score, and Edgecombe Community College was listed as fourth based on program size.

“We are very proud of our Practical Nursing program,” says Ami Denton, director of nursing programs at ECC. “Our instructors and clinical partners are first-rate. Their focus on preparing highly trained graduates is always top of mind.”

PracticalNursing.org is a leading resource for LPN/LVN students. The organization’s evaluation process considers various factors, including past and present first-time National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) pass rates, weighted by year.

For the 12th consecutive year, Edgecombe Community College’s Practical Nursing graduates achieved a 100 percent pass rate on their national licensure exam. Clockwise from bottom left are August 2023 graduates Martina Garcia, Hannah Pilgreen Davis, Summer Macaluso, Ijanee Marie Bobbitt, Darla Dionne DeBlois, John Hardy Kennedy Jr., Crystal Stinson, Laura Briggs, Haley Marie Collins, Jarell Ham, Marais Michelle Sanchez, and Jaimie Estebana Andrade.

For the 12th year in a row, recent graduates of Edgecombe Community College’s Practical Nursing program achieved perfection on the NCLEX-PN.

Twelve students completed the Practical Nursing program in August 2023, and they achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the national licensure exam.

According to an email from PracticalNursing.org announcing the #4 ranking, “Our methodology ensures that we assess how effectively a program supports students in their journey toward licensure and beyond.”
