Donors Recognized at ECC Foundation Event
Donors were honored during the Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s SpringTide event. The annual celebration recognizes individuals who have contributed $250 or more in the past year to the ECC Foundation in support of students. Jean Bailey, president of the ECC Foundation Board of Directors; Dr. Greg McLeod, ECC president; and Tameka Kenan-Norman, executive director of the Foundation, spoke to the nearly 40 guests who gathered at the Blount-Bridgers House/Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery in downtown Tarboro.
Donors learned about the many things happening at ECC, how their contributions are used, and the achievements of scholarship recipients. Leaders noted that restricted funds may support scholarships, endowments, or other areas of the college as designated by the donor. Some of the uses for unrestricted funds may be for healthcare mission trips, to sponsor innovative initiatives for students and faculty, and to support Foundation events like SpringTide, or to be applied where the need is the greatest and most impactful.
