ECC Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients
The Edgecombe Community College Foundation awarded scholarships to 157 ECC students during a scholarship awards ceremony held November 8 on the Tarboro campus. Ninety-five scholarships were awarded, with scholarship amounts ranging from $100 to $2,000. Shown are students Samantha Wainright and Elijah Sherrod receiving the Dr. Hartwell H. Fuller Jr. Endowed Merit Scholarship from Mr. and Mrs. Roger Taylor. Established in 2011, the Fuller Endowed Merit Scholarship honors Dr. Hartwell Fuller, who was president of ECC from 1994 until 2004. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and is awarded to two Edgecombe County public high school scholars. Wainright, who is pre-nursing, and Sherrod, who is working toward an Associate in Arts degree, receive the full cost of an associate degree, including in-state tuition, books, and a laptop computer.
