ECC Foundation Golf Tournament a Success
The Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s 37th Annual Golf Tournament raised approximately $30,000 to support student scholarships and operations of the foundation. The Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s 37th Annual Golf Tournament raised approximately $30,000 to support student scholarships and operations of the foundation.
The tournament was held September 21 at Maccripine Country Club in Macclesfield. Thirty-three teams competed in the tournament, which is the largest fundraiser held by the ECC Foundation.
“The golfers and the volunteers had a great time and enjoyed perfect weather this year,” says Lynwood Roberson, executive director of the ECC Foundation. “We are so grateful for the support of so many, year after year.”
Kanban Logistics took first place in the first flight, with team members Tommie Deal, Shane Floar, Harold Hobgood, and Lee Walston.
EP Mart/Which Wich was second in the first flight, played by Wade Butler, Johnny Evans, Kent Harrell, and Jimmy Stewart.
Edmondson Insurance Agency won third place in the first flight, with team members Curtis Edmondson, Johnnie Edmondson, Lee Edmondson, and Charlie Harrell.
Thirty-three teams competed in the golf tournament held September 21. Piedmont Natural Gas – Team 2 placed first in the second flight, played by team members (l-r) Mike Wright, Trey Johnson, Mike Pearce, and David Pearce.

Main Street Home Loans placed second in the second flight, with team members Dave Ashman, Jonathan Baker, Adam Bartholomew, and Ryan Spivey.
ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital came in third in the second flight, with team members Jim Bullins, Bobby Davis, Earl Marshall, and Scott Norville.
Hitachi Astemo was the corporate sponsor of the golf tournament.
