ECC Foundation Golf Tournament Nets $20,000
The Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s 35th Annual Golf Tournament raised approximately $20,000 for student scholarships, grants, programs, and projects at Edgecombe Community College.
The tournament was held April 22 at Maccripine Country Club in Macclesfield. Thirty-one teams competed in the tournament, which is among the largest fundraisers held by the ECC Foundation.
“Our golfers and volunteers braved the unseasonably cold weather and brisk winds to enjoy a day on the beautiful golf course at Maccripine Country Club,” says Lynwood Roberson, executive director of the ECC Foundation. “The funds raised by our golf tournament support scholarships, academic programs, and projects at the College, and we are very grateful to the many sponsors, golfers, and volunteers who made our 35th Annual Golf Tournament a tremendous success.”
For the second consecutive year, an added attraction at the golf tournament was North Carolina native and world long drive champion Jeff “Critter” Crittenden, who demonstrated his long drive skills throughout the day.
