Program Director Aidil Ortiz Hill of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust visited Edgecombe Community College’s Tarboro campus last week to tour the most recent addition to the campus, the Natural Playscape, located adjacent to the entrance of the Wetlands Trail.

The Natural Playscape is a playground constructed entirely with wood and other natural materials.

A $25,000 grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust’s Healthy Places NC initiative funded the project.

Hill met with Mary Stocks, chair of Early Childhood Education, and J. Lynn Cale, associate vice president of instruction, about the success of the Natural Playscape grant and the opportunity for additional grants in the future.
