ECC Raises More Than 50K at Annual Golf Tournament

The Edgecombe Community College Foundation’s 38th Annual Golf Tournament raised approximately $50,000 to support student scholarships and operations of the foundation. The tournament was held Oct. 3 at Maccripine Country Club in Pinetops. Forty teams competed in the tournament, which is the ECC Foundation’s largest fundraiser.
“Thanks to the sponsors, players, volunteers and a number of businesses throughout Edgecombe County and Eastern North Carolina, we were able to raise a significant amount of money to support our students,” says Tameka Kenan-Norman, executive director of the Foundation. “These individuals have made an indelible mark on our community, and we are so grateful for their continued and unwavering support.”
The team, In Memory of Berry Anderson Sr., took first place in the first flight, with team members Tyler Brice, Jack West, Stephen West and Lake Williams.
Warren Accounting Group placed second in the first flight, with team members Sylvia Cobb, Raymond Cobb, Carl Warren and Rob Warren.
Webb’s Lawn Care claimed third place in the first flight, with team members Kathy Webb, Timmy Webb, Cole Jefferys and Tommy Tolson.

Placing second in the second flight was UNC Nash Hospital, with team members Mike Dew, Amy Dew, Ryan Griffin and David Long.
ECU Health Edgecombe Team 2 came in third place in the second flight, with team members Pete Moore, Brandon Hale, Andrew Roland and Jim Bullins.
In Memory of Berry Anderson, Sr. was the presenting sponsor for the annual golf tournament, with Hitachi Astemo and LS Cable as corporate sponsors.
