Honor Society Holds Highway Cleanup
Nineteen Edgecombe Community College students, instructors, and staff participated in the college’s Adopt-A-Highway cleanup on Saturday, March 16, sponsored by the college’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society. The Alpha Omega Nu chapter at ECC has been responsible for a three-mile stretch of road in front of the Tarboro campus since 2000 and sponsors cleanup events twice a year. The group collected 53 bags of trash. Participants included (l-r) ECC President Dr. Greg McLeod, Camden Johnson, Kenneth Maywald, PTK Advisor Karin Ruffin, Krystal Christopher, Montrell Staton, Ka’Viya White, Aubrey Ward, Corbin House, Karian Ramirez Sanchez, Weiland Smith, Abriella Roberts, Payden Kiser, Amiya Smith, Rafael Serrano-Acosta, PTK President Kyla McLeod, Oscar Lin, Tiffiny Wolf, and PTK Advisor Jordan Carter.
