Human Services Club Attends Mental Health Conference
Students Paulette Clark-Daniels (left) and Teresa Denton were among the Edgecombe Community College Human Services Club members who attended the Enhancing Knowledge and Skills in Adult Mental Health conference held April 26-27 in Greenville. Students earned up to twelve hours of credit and completed their ethics requirements for certification by the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board. They attended a variety of sessions, including working with Hispanic families, suicide prevention and intervention, nutrition and mental health, crisis services, trauma, substance use, and mindfulness. Reneé Pearson, chair of the Human Services Technology program at ECC, serves as Human Services Technology Club advisor. Student Jerome Dail also attended the conference.
