Nearly 300 job seekers attended Edgecombe Community College’s annual Job Fair held March 17 on the Tarboro campus.

Seventy-nine employers, including representatives from manufacturing, healthcare, public safety, hospitality, and municipalities were on the lookout for qualified applicants. Several companies conducted interviews on site.

“This is an awesome event,” noted Andrea Woolard, chief financial officer of World Cat in Tarboro. “This is the first time I’ve been here. The turnout has been fantastic, and we’ve gotten some really good resumes and applications.”

Rodney Jones Jr. of Greenville, a recent information technology graduate of Pitt Community College, was interested in finding a tech support position with a focus on hardware and software. “I’m currently working in Greenville,” he said, “but I came to this job fair to see what’s out there.”

“I would like to say thank you to all the employers who took a chance and came out to this event,” added Curtis Street, ECC career counselor/recruiter who organized the job fair. “I hope they all received a benefit from being here and will come back to future events making ECC the place to be!”
