SECU Foundation Awards Ten Scholarships

The State Employees Credit Union Foundation recently awarded ten scholarships to Continuing Education students at Edgecombe Community College. The State Employees Credit Union Foundation recently awarded ten scholarships to Continuing Education students at Edgecombe Community College.

Established in 2013, the SECU Foundation Continuing Education Scholarship Program focuses on assisting the needs of North Carolina’s unemployed and underemployed citizens, military veterans, and members of the state’s National Guard seeking short-term job training for new careers or retraining to advance current job skills.

At Edgecombe Community College, the 2016-2017 SECU Foundation Scholarship recipients are:

  • Sarah Elaine Anderson – Nurse Aide II
  • Antonia Lee Battle – Welding
  • Jacqueline Faye Broaddus – Nurse Aide I
  • Teyawnda Quiana Bullock – Nurse Aide II
  • Deasree Genee Harper – Nurse Aide II
  • Russhion Lemont Jones – Welding
  • LaQuail Vonshea Lawton – Nurse Aide II
  • Courtney Ann Manning – Nurse Aide I
  • Austin Scott Meadows – Nurse Aide I
  • Zachary Hunter Whitfield – Welding

Annually, the SECU Foundation provides a total of 580 scholarships – ten scholarships at $750 each – to all 58 community colleges in North Carolina.
