ECC Ranks #6 Among Best Community Colleges

Edgecombe Community College ranks number six among the Best Community Colleges in the U.S. according to a recent study by SmartAsset. The online site for financial information and advice compared 616 two-year schools that offer associate degrees and have at least 500 full-time enrollees. Schools were ranked based on their retention rates, student-to-faculty ratio and tuition and fees.

“We are always excited to receive a high ranking that acknowledges the quality instruction and strong support we provide to our students,” says ECC President Dr. Greg McLeod. “We are proud to maintain our top 10 ranking from last year given the hundreds of colleges studied, and proud to be the only institution to appear in the top six in back to back years.”

According to the report, ECC has a retention rate of 74 percent, a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and an annual cost of $2,640 in tuition and fees.
