High Altitude Ballooning STEM Day was held Sunday, February 16 with the Tar River 4-H Club. Edgecombe Community College students on the High Altitude Balloon (HAB) Team, critECCly stable, set up stations for participants to learn about weight/balance with foil boats and air resistance with a team-built wind tunnel. Attendees also used radios to find one of our GPS trackers, and signed a parachute that will be used during an upcoming HAB launch.
STEM Day is an activity for the NASA/NC Space Grant competition, a program funding student teams to participate in competitions sponsored by NASA.
