Health Careers Academy

ECC is hosting its second Health Careers Academy for Edgecombe County and Nash County rising high school seniors or early college super seniors. Edgecombe REACH Youth Citizens Academy
Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and early college super seniors of Edgecombe County | $100 stipend

Edgecombe REACH Youth Citizens Academy is open to high school juniors, seniors, and early college super seniors. Students will explore community resources and tour local industries to learn about potential job opportunities in Edgecombe County. Contact spences@edgecombe.edu or (252) 618-6648.

2026 high school graduates of Edgecombe County | $15 per hour paid on-the-job training
Begins June 15

who are fully prepared to enter the workforce. Participants will receive $15.00 an hour while enrolled in 96 hours of curriculum instruction. Students will also receive 80 hours of paid on-the-job training with local industries. Most positions will lead to full-time employment with benefits and room for advancement. Candidates must be 18 years of age and have a CRC score of BRONZE or higher. Students will earn their OSHA 10 certification, Working Smart certification, and Lean Six Sigma certification. Students will also receive electrical and electric vehicle training. Space is extremely limited! Working Edge Academy
2026 high school graduates of Edgecombe County | $300 stipend
June 15 – June 23 (will not meet on Friday, June 19)
Week 1: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Working Edge Academy is designed for 2026 high school graduates in Edgecombe County. Students will receive OSHA 10 certification and Working Smart Certification. Edge of Innovation Entrepreneurship Camp is designed for high school students in grades 9-12, as well as early college super seniors.
