The English Language Acquisition (ELA) program assists adults whose spoken native language is a language other than English. ELA classes help students in the areas of speaking, reading, and writing English and give attention to both the cultural and linguistic needs of the students.
This program also helps students acquire the communication, employment, and citizenship skills needed to succeed in the American community.
Registration includes an initial testing/placement assessment. ELA classes are offered at different sites throughout Edgecombe County, free of charge.
